“Quicksilver” is a variety of Hebe grown predominantly for its colourful foliage and short stature. It grows as a rounded shrub carrying fine, blue-silver foliage, held on near black stems. The foliage is complemented with purple flowers through spring and summer. This evergreen grows compactly to about 30 cm tall and 70 cm wide, and performs best when planted on a well-drained site in full sun or partial shade. It is hardy to moderate frost, cool climates, coastal environments, and periods of dry. “Quicksilver” is a versatile plant that is often used in mixed and border plantings, or planted around outdoor living areas. A mass planting either on a bank or as a groundcover affords an amazing display with this plant.
