Veronica speciosa

Veronica speciosa, commonly known as Napuka, is a showy, NZ native shrub that features glossy green leaves and large spikes of showy flowers. The pretty, purple flowers are borne from summer through winter above the lush foliage, which together produce a very aesthetic plant. This evergreen grows with a bushy and rounded shape to about 1 m tall and the same wide, performing best when grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, coastal conditions, and dry periods. Veronica speciosa is commonly included in a mixed planting, used in borders, planted around outdoor living areas, or mass planted on a bank or the like for a very effective display.
