The Wiri Grace Hebe is grown for its lovely form, foliage, and impressive flowers. It produces long stems carrying large and showy sprays of small, lilac-coloured flowers during summer and autumn. This display is quite outstanding. Complementing the flowers are glossy, fresh green leaves held on slender, upright stems which serve as a lovely backdrop. This evergreen, NZ native grows as a somewhat open and rounded shrub to about 75 cm tall and 1.2 m wide. It performs best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site and is tolerant of frost, coastal conditions, and dry periods. The Wiri Grace Hebe is commonly added to a mixed planting, used in borders, planted around outdoor living areas, used in cottage gardens, or mass planted either on a bank or as a groundcover.
