Royal Highness Hibiscus

The Royal Highness Hibiscus is grown for its large and showy flowers. The flowers are apricot orange with the colour changing to a deep red towards the centre. They appear through summer and autumn on upright, slender branches which also host glossy green leaves. It typically grows to 1.5 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of short periods of dry as well as only very light frost once established. In cool climates it may become partially deciduous during winter. The Royal Highness Hibiscus is commonly grown as a showy specimen, used as an informal hedge, planted for screening, included in a mixed planting, added to a tropical garden, or planted around outdoor living areas.
