Hydrangea macrophylla Alpen Gluten features large balls of rich pink flowers from summer through autumn. These are complemented by large, green leaves which blend nicely with the flowers. It grows as a multi-stemmed, deciduous shrub with a rounded form to about 1.2 m tall and the same wide but can be trimmed as necessary. Best growth is achieved in a full sun or partial shade position on a well-drained, sheltered site with a slightly acidic soil. This Hydrangea is hardy to cool climates, frost, and short periods of dry.
