Hydrangea arborescens ‘Annabelle’, commonly known as the Wild Hydrangea, is a popular variety of that produces large clusters of pure white flowers through summer and autumn. The flowers literally transform the plant and are complemented with large, dark green leaves that are both lush and fresh in appearance. It grows as a multi-stemmed, deciduous shrub with a rounded form to about 2 m tall and 1.5 m wide and can be trimmed as necessary. Best results with this variety are achieved when it is grown in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site with a slightly acidic soil. It is hardy to cool climates, frost, and short periods of dry.
