Hydrangea macrophylla Fasan, Fasan Hydrangea
Hydrangea macrophylla Fasan features large flower heads made up of pink florets surrounded by tiny, white-pink florets. These are produced from summer through autumn and are complemented by large, green leaves. It grows as a multi-stemmed, deciduous shrub with a rounded shape to about 1.2 m tall and the same wide. It can be trimmed as necessary and grows best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, semi-sheltered site with a slightly acidic soil. This variety is hardy to cool climates, frost, and short periods of dry. Hydrangea Fasan is a great variety for including in a mixed planting, planting around the base of larger trees, maintaining in a container, growing as an informal hedge, or planting around outdoor living areas.
