Hypericum perforatum, commonly called St. Johns Wort, is a shrub grown for its attractive foliage and flowers. It carries mid green leaves which become adorned with yellow flowers during spring and summer. It typically grows to 1 m tall and the same wide, growing best in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of dry soil conditions as well as coastal climates though young plants should be protected from frost and strong winds.
