Ilex crenata Convexa, commonly known as the Japanese Holly, is a dense, multi-stemmed, evergreen shrub that carries small and glossy, dark green leaves held off short stems. The foliage is complemented with green-white flowers in spring which result in small, black berries. It typically grows to 1 m tall and 1.2 m wide and can be trimmed as necessary. The relatively fine texture of Ilex crenata Convexa sets it apart from other landscape plants making it ideal for mixed plantings, topiary, borders, or maintaining in a container.
