“Arabian Night” is an outstanding variety of Lavender owing to its masses of beautiful, dark blue flower spikes from spring through autumn. The foliage is green-grey and complements the flowers nicely. Both the flowers and foliage produce a lovely aroma when cut. This evergreen shrub typically grows compactly with a rounded shape to 60 cm tall and the same wide, performing best when planted on a well-drained site in full sun. It is a hardy plant that will tolerate dry conditions but does require protection from heavy frosts when young. “Arabian Night” is commonly used in cottage gardens, included in a mixed planting, used in borders, planted around outdoor living areas, trimmed into a low hedge, or grown in a container. For hedging space plants 30 cm apart. A mass planting on a bank of the like gives a truly dramatic display with this popular variety.
