Leptospermum Electric Red

Leptospermum Electric Red, Red Manuka, Leptospermum scoparium Electric Red

Leptospermum Electric Red, commonly named Red Manuka, is a NZ native shrub grown for its amazing flowering. Masses of vibrant, red flowers with a dark centre are produced from winter through summer and literally transform the plant into a sea of colour. The fine, purple-dark green foliage adds further aesthetic appeal and gives off a pleasant fragrance during warm weather as it grows to 2.5 m tall and 2 m wide. Leptospermum scoparium Electric Red is commonly included in mixed plantings, planted around outdoor living areas, used for screening and shelter, clipped into a hedge, planted as a backdrop for smaller plants, or grown to attract native fauna.

Leptospermum Electric Red Details

Leptospermum Electric Red, commonly named Red Manuka, is a NZ native shrub grown for its amazing flowering. Masses of vibrant, red flowers with a dark centre are produced from winter through summer and literally transform the plant into a sea of colour. The fine, purple-dark green foliage adds further aesthetic appeal and gives off a pleasant fragrance during warm weather. This evergreen typically grows to 2.5 m tall and 2 m wide and can be trimmed as necessary. In shaded conditions it will grow more open with reduced flowering. It will tolerate drought, poorer drained sites, coastal environments, cool climates, and moderate frost. Leptospermum scoparium Electric Red is commonly included in mixed plantings, planted around outdoor living areas, used for screening and shelter, clipped into a hedge, planted as a backdrop for smaller plants, or grown to attract native fauna.
