“Princess Anne” is a colourful NZ native shrub grown for its stunning flowers. It produces exquisite, double, white flowers with a maroon centre in such proliferation they coat the plant during spring and summer. They sit neatly amongst the fine and aromatic, dark green foliage which has dark red undertones. This evergreen typically grows to 2 m tall and 1 m wide and new growth can be trimmed as necessary. It grows best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site and will tolerate extended dry periods, heavy soils, frost, and cool climates. “Princess Anne” is commonly included in a mixed planting, used for screening and shelter, planted as backdrop for smaller plants, grown to attract native fauna, or trimmed into a hedge. The fine foliage and floriferous nature makes this shrub a fine addition to any garden.
