Leptospermum Tui Details

Leptospermum Tui is a NZ native shrub renowned for its pretty flowers and attractive foliage. It produces flowers that are light pink with a dark pink, waxy centre during spring and summer. These are produced in abundance and are complemented with small, bronze tinged foliage. The foliage releases a pleasant fragrance when brushed against and is held densely on rigid stems. This compact, evergreen typically grows to 1.2 m tall and 75 cm wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is a hardy plant that will tolerate dry periods, coastal conditions, frost, cool climates, and a wide range of soil conditions, barring extreme wet or dry. Leptospermum scoparium Tui is commonly used as a backdrop for smaller plants, included in a mixed planting, trimmed into a hedge, or planted around outdoor living areas.
