Leptospermum scoparium Wiri Linda is a popular variety of the commonly known, Manuka, and features amazing flowering. It produces masses of showy, double, white flowers from late spring through autumn. The small, dark green foliage provides a stunning contrast to the flowers. It grows quickly to about 2 m tall and 1.5 m wide though can be trimmed as necessary. Best results with this variety are achieved when it is positioned in full sun on a well-drained site, through it will tolerate drought, heavy soils, some wind, coastal conditions and moderate frost. Leptospermum scoparium Wiri Linda is commonly used as a backdrop for smaller plants, grown as a specimen, planted around outdoor living areas, used in “white” gardens, trimmed into a hedge, or maintained in a container.
