Leucospermum Mary Lou, commonly known as the Pincushion flower, is grown for its stunning blooms. The showy, yellow flowers produced during spring are truly impressive. They are great for attracting birds and are often used in floral arrangements. The foliage comprises mid-green leaves, and provides a lovely backdrop to the blooms. It typically grows to 1.5 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of cool climates, moderate frost once established, and extended dry periods. This Pincushion flower is commonly included in mixed plantings, maintained in a container, used in pool gardens, planted around outdoor living areas, or used in the drier areas of the garden.
