Lophomyrtus Indian Chief is a variety of the commonly known, NZ Myrtle, and is grown for its colourful foliage. A dense network of brown stems bear petite, bronze-purple leaves which darken in colour during the cooler months. Small, white flowers are borne in summer, blend nicely with the foliage as it grows to 3 m tall and 1 m wide. Lophomyrtus Indian Chief makes a fine addition to any garden and will add colour and vitality. It is commonly clipped into a hedge, grown in a container, added to mixed plantings, or used to contrast with other plant colours.
