Metrosideros ‘Dalese’ is an exquisite variety of the commonly known Pohutukawa. It grows as a small shrub carrying small, lime green foliage. Masses of small, red flowers are produced through summer which nestle themselves into the foliage. This NZ Christmas tree typically grows to 1.5 m tall and the same wide, preferring a full sun or partial shade position in full sun for best results. It is tolerant of dry periods, coastal conditions, cool climates, and frost once established. Metrosideros ‘Dalese’ is commonly included in a mixed planting, planted around the barbecue or patio areas, trimmed into a hedge, grown as a specimen, or maintained in a container.
