Metrosideros Mistral Details

Metrosideros Mistral is a variety of Pohutukawa grown for its masses of crimson red flowers in summer. The showy flowers are complemented with dark green foliage which emerges with a layer of felt that tends to give the leaves a grey colouring. It typically grows to 4 m tall and the same wide, and can be contained with trimming. Best results with this tree are achieved when it is planted in a full sun on a well-drained site. This Southern Rata is tolerant of poor soils, dry periods, moderate frost, and coastal climates, but should be protected while it is establishing.
