Metrosideros Wee Willie Winkie is a small variety of Pohutukawa and grown for its compact form and attractive foliage. The impressive foliage is variegated with cream and green and becomes adorned with white flowers during summer. While it is often grown as a shrub, it will begin to climb if it has something it can cling onto. As a shrub it typically grows to 60 cm tall and 80 cm wide, growing best in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of poor soils, dry periods, and coastal climates but does require frost protection.
