Myoporum laetum decumbens, commonly known as prostrate Ngaio, is a quick growing, NZ native shrub. It has fleshy, dark green leaves and in summer produces small, white flowers with maroon speckles. It typically grows to 2 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of coastal conditions, dry periods, and frost once established. Myoporum laetum decumbens is commonly planted in coastal gardens, added to a mixed planting, or included in a native planting. NB: All parts of this plant are poisonous.
