“Madonna” is a shrub that is grown for both its flowers and foliage. This vigorous plant grows densely with branches holding long, dark green leaves. In summer the plant is adorned with showy clusters of white flowers which sit neatly above the foliage. It typically grows to 2 m tall and the same wide but can be trimmed as necessary. This variety grow best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site, and is tolerant of coastal conditions, moderate frost, and dry periods. “Madonna” makes a great informal hedge and looks impressive in mixed plantings, as well as in “white” and cottage gardens. Please note: all parts of the plant are poisonous.
