The foliage is adorned during summer with white, daisy-like flowers as it grows to 3 m tall and 1.5 m wide. Olearia furfuracea is commonly included in a mixed planting, revegetation planting, or used as a backdrop for smaller plants.

Olearia furfuracea, commonly known as Akepiro, is a NZ native shrub with large and leathery green leaves that have a white buff on the underside. The foliage is adorned during summer with white, daisy-like flowers. This shrub typically grows to 3 m tall and 1.5 m wide and can be trimmed as necessary. It performs best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site though it is tolerant of coastal conditions, a range of soil conditions, and periods of dry.
