Olearia ilicifolia Details

Olearia ilicifolia, commonly known as Mountain Holly, is an evergreen, NZ native shrub that grows to about 3 m tall and the same wide. Plants carry grey-green leaves which are narrow, serrated, and spear-shaped. The masses of flowers in summer are white with yellow centres and look spectacular. It performs best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site though it is tolerant of coastal conditions, a range of soil conditions, and periods of dry. Olearia ilicifolia is commonly included in a mixed planting, revegetation planting, planted around larger trees, or used as a backdrop for smaller plants. This is a somewhat unusual plant that looks great in any planting and is quite understated.
