Pachystegia insignis

Pachystegia insignis, Rock Daisy, Marlborough Rock Daisy, Pachystegia insignis For Sale

Pachystegia insignis, commonly known as the Marlborough Rock Daisy, is a desirable, NZ native shrub. Its appeal comes from the remarkable, white, daisy flowers produced in summer. The flowers are complemented by the large and leathery, dark green leaves with a thin white margin, and a fine layer of felt on the underside as it grows to 50 cm tall and 1 m wide. The Marlborough Rock Daisy is commonly included in a mixed or border planting, used in rock gardens, added to coastal plantings, used in native plantings, or mass planted either as a groundcover or on a bank. It is also well suited to planting around outdoor living areas such as pools and the like.

Pachystegia insignis Details

Pachystegia insignis, commonly known as the Marlborough Rock Daisy, is a desirable, NZ native shrub. Its appeal comes from the remarkable, white, daisy flowers produced in summer. The flowers are complemented by the large and leathery, dark green leaves with a thin white margin, and a fine layer of felt on the underside as it grows to 50 cm tall and 1 m wide. In its natural habitat it is often found on exposed sites with little soil and this reason this plant is tolerant of dry soils, wind, coastal conditions, frost, and cool climates. Nevertheless, it will grow exceptionally well in a full sun position on a well-drained site. The Marlborough Rock Daisy is commonly included in a mixed or border planting, used in rock gardens, added to coastal plantings, used in native plantings, or mass planted either as a groundcover or on a bank. It is also well suited to planting around outdoor living areas such as pools and the like.
