Derwentia perfoliata is another name for Parahebe perfoliata, and is an evergreen, small shrub featuring a lovely flowers and foliage. The leaves are glossy green with a blue overtone. The foliage is adorned during spring and summer with masses of small but showy, blue flowers. It typically grows to 30 cm tall and 50 cm wide, preferring a full sun or partial shade position on a well-drained site that does not dry out. It will tolerate moderate frost, cool climates, heavy soils, and dry periods. Derwentia perfoliata is commonly included in borders, rock gardens, grown in a container, or mass planted on a bank or the like. We have observed lovely specimens trailing over low walls.
