The Photinia glabra Red Robin is a popular hedging plant owing to its bright and colourful foliage. Best results with this Japanese Photinia are achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained site. This is a reasonably hardy plant that will tolerate moderate frost, dry periods, some wind, and most soil conditions, barring extreme wet and dry. Photinia glabra Red Robin is commonly grown as an attractive and dense hedge but is also well suited to being used for shelter and screening. For hedging, space plants 40-50 cm apart.
