Physocarpus opulifolius Luteus Details

Physocarpus opulifolius Luteus, commonly known as the Ninebark Shrub or Golden Ninebark, is a deciduous shrub grown for its impressively coloured foliage and pretty flowers. It produces lush, yellow-green foliage which is held on red stems and develops shades of red in autumn before falling. The foliage alone makes an impressive statement but is further complemented with the small, white-pink, button-like flowers in summer which result in small brown fruit. It grows densely to 2.5 m tall and the same wide but can be trimmed as necessary. Physocarpus opulifolius Luteus grows best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site in full sun or partial shade. It is tolerant of frost and cold environments. This plant is ideal for mixed plantings, as a backdrop for smaller plants, or for brightening up an area.
