Pittosporum crassifolium variegata Details

Pittosporum crassifolium variegata is grown for its attractive foliage and hardy nature. It produces variegated leaves that are mid-green and surrounded with a cream-white edge. In spring, sweetly scented, crimson flowers are borne which result in seed capsules that split open in autumn and attract birds. This shrub grows quickly with a conical shape to 3 m tall and 2 m wide and can be contained as necessary with trimming. Best results are achieved when it is planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant cool climates, wind, coastal conditions, periods of dry, and frost once established. Pittosporum crassifolium variegata is ideal for shelter, screening, hedging, as a backdrop for smaller plants, or as an attractive specimen.
