Pittosporum tenuifolium Millfield Magic is a compact NZ native shrub that produces fresh-green foliage with silver overtones. The lush foliage is held densely on upright stems. This evergreen typically grows to 3 m tall and 2 m wide and can be trimmed as necessary. It performs best when grown in full sun on a well-drained site, and is tolerant of most soil types, except extreme wet. It is also hardy to coastal conditions, moderate frost, some wind, and dry periods though does benefit from protection while establishing. Pittosporum Millfield Magic is an excellent choice for hedging, growing around pools or barbecue areas, adding to a mixed planting, using as a backdrop for smaller plants, or maintaining in a container. Space plants 50 cm apart for hedging.
