This evergreen typically grows to 2.5 m tall and 2 m wide and can be trimmed as necessary. It performs best when grown in full sun on a well-drained site, and is tolerant of most soil types, except extreme wet. It is also hardy to coastal conditions, moderate frost, some wind, and dry periods though does benefit from protection while establishing. Pittosporum Mountain Green is an excellent choice for hedging, growing around pools or barbecue areas, adding to a mixed planting, or maintaining in a container. Space plants 50 cm apart when growing this Pittosporum as a hedge.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about Pittosporum Mountain Green? We are here to help.

Hello, could you let me know the best time of year for planting these, and would it be OK to plant now? We live in Tauranga. Thanks a lot.

Normally late autumn through to mid-spring is optimum. However, you can plant during the summer months as long as you keep an eye on watering them until winter.
