Pittosporum Silver Star Details

Pittosporum tenuifolium Silver Star is a NZ native shrub grown for its colourful foliage. It carries small, silver-green leaves which are held on dark red-black stems. It grows with a tight and dense habit to about 2.5 m tall and 1.5 m wide and can be trimmed as necessary. Best results with this evergreen are achieved when it is planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of most soil types, except extreme wet or dry, moderate shade and frost, wind, and coastal conditions. Pittosporum Silver Star is commonly used for shelter, screening, and hedging. It makes an attractive specimen and is often used as a backdrop to other plants or planted around outdoor living areas to provide both privacy and lovely aesthetics.
