Pittosporum Waihao is grown for its foliage which comprises dark green leaves held on solid stems. This evergreen, NZ native shrub typically grows to 3 m tall and 2 m wide but can be trimmed as necessary. It is tolerant of most soil types except extreme wet and will grow in either full sun or partial shade. It tends to be more open and taller in shadier conditions. This wind hardy and coastal tolerant plant is ideal for shelter, screening, and hedging. Pittosporum Waihao makes an attractive specimen or as a backdrop for smaller plants.
