Pittosporum Waimea Details

Pittosporum tenuifolium Waimea features glossy, jade-green leaves carried on light green stems. The foliage is complemented with small, maroon-black flowers in spring. This evergreen, NZ native shrub typically grows to 2.5 m high and 2 m wide though can be trimmed as necessary. Regular trimming encourages new growth and produces a tight plant. Best performance with this plant is achieved when grown in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of most soil types except extreme wet and tends to be more open in shadier conditions. Pittosporum Waimea is also tolerant of coastal conditions, making it ideal for shelter, screening, and hedging. It also makes an attractive feature or as a lovely back drop to smaller plants.
