Podocarpus drouynianus, otherwise known as the Emu Berry, Wild Plum, or Koolah, is an evergreen shrub that is favoured for its fleshy fruits and foliage. Purple seed cones have a fleshy base that is edible and quite tasty. It features mid-green, needle-like foliage that is held somewhat densely. It grows as a multi-stemmed bush to about 75 cm tall and 2.5 m wide. Best results with this shrub are achieved when it is grown in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of mild drought, moderate frost, some wind, and coastal environments.
