Podocarpus macrophyllus Maki, commonly known as Shrubby Yew Tree, Chinese Podocarpus, or Shrubby Podocarpus, is a hardy shrub grown for its foliage and form. It produces dense, dark green leaves, with new foliage emerging lime green. The combination of old and new foliage creates a two-toned display for most of the year. It grows slowly with a columnar shape to about 3 m tall and 2 m wide, and can be trimmed as necessary. Best results with this evergreen are achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, and short periods of dry.
