“Petite Butterfly” is a compact variety of Polygala and grown for its prolific flowering. The soft, oval leaves on this evergreen shrub are mid-dark green and provide a lovely backdrop to the mauve-purple, pea like flowers produced almost year round. The main flush of flowering is usually from winter through spring. It typically grows to 1.5 m tall and 1 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. “Petite Butterfly” is commonly included in a mixed planting, used in borders, included in cottage gardens, or planted as a cluster for a lovely display.
