Ribes laurifolium, commonly known as the Flowering Currant, is grown for its flowers and small fruits. Through winter and spring, it produces clusters of green-yellow flowers which are often followed by edible, black berries during summer. It typically grows to 1.5 m tall and the same wide and should be cut back by half each winter. Ribes laurifolium is commonly grown as an ornamental where it is added to a mixed planting or grown as an informal hedge.
