Rosmarinus officinalis, commonly known as Rosemary, Rose Of The Sea, is a shrub grown for its foliage, flowers, and pleasant scent. It features petite, pale blue flowers which are borne amidst the dark green foliage in spring. The foliage and flowers release a pleasant fragrance when crushed or brushed against. This evergreen grows with a rounded shape to about 75 cm tall and 60 cm wide. It grows best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site, and is tolerant of coastal environments, moderate frost, and dry periods. Rosmarinus officinalis is commonly added to a mixed planting, planted around outdoor living areas, included in a herb garden, or added to Mediterranean and cottage gardens.
