Salix repens argentea, commonly known as Silver Willow, is a deciduous shrub grown for its impressive foliage and catkins. It produces grey-green leaves on red coloured branchlets which develop yellow tones in autumn before falling. Grey coloured catkins are produced in spring which are quite unique. It grows with a somewhat sprawling habit to about 1 m tall and 2 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on soils that remain consistently moist. It will tolerate frost and cool climates but does not cope well with extended dry periods.
