Salix repens argentea, Silver Willow, Salix repens ssp argentea, Salix repens var argentea
Salix repens argentea, commonly known as Silver Willow, is a deciduous shrub grown for its impressive foliage and catkins. It produces grey-green leaves on red coloured branchlets which develop yellow tones in autumn before falling. Grey coloured catkins are produced in spring which are quite unique. It grows with a somewhat sprawling habit to about 1 m tall and 2 m wide. Salix repens argentea is commonly planted around water features, included in a mixed planting, used as a groundcover, maintained in a container, or used to provide different colours and textures in the garden.
