Syringa Clarks Giant is a variety of French Lilac grown for its showy flowers from late spring through summer. At this time, purple buds open to reveal fragrant, single, double, lilac blue flowers. The foliage comprises dark green, heart-shaped leaves and develops yellow tones in autumn before falling. It grows to about 2.5 m tall and the same wide and can be trimmed as necessary. Syringa Clarks Giant is commonly included in a mixed planting, used as a backdrop for smaller plants, included in cottage gardens, or used as a flowering hedge.
