Syringa Madame Lemoine Details

Syringa Madame Lemoine is a variety of French Lilac and is grown for its showy flowers from late spring through summer. During this time, buds open to reveal clusters of fragrant, double, white flowers. These are absolutely stunning and contrast nicely with the foliage. The foliage comprises dark green, heart-shaped leaves which develop yellow tones in autumn before falling. It grows upright with a somewhat loose habit to about 2.5 m tall and 2 m wide though can be trimmed as necessary. Best performance with this plant is achieved when grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of light shade, short periods of dry, frost, and cool climates. Syringa Madame Lemoine is commonly included in a mixed planting, used as a backdrop for smaller plants, used in “white” gardens, or grown as a flowering hedge.
