Syringa Mrs Edward Harding is a variety of French Lilac grown for its showy flowers from late spring through summer. During this time, purple buds open to reveal clusters of fragrant, double, purple flowers. The foliage comprises dark green, heart-shaped leaves and develops yellow tones in autumn before falling, and typically grows to about 2.5 m tall and 2 m wide. Syringa Mrs Edward Harding is commonly included in a mixed planting, used as a backdrop for smaller plants, or used as a flowering hedge.
