“Anvi” is a variety of Viburnum and is an evergreen shrub grown for its foliage and flowers. Showy clusters of white, pompom-like flowers appear during late winter and into spring on gently arching branches that also host dark green leaves. The flowers develop into purple berries that are great for attracting birds. The combination of flowers and foliage is very aesthetic. New foliage is crimson red which provides additional interest to this plant. It typically grows to 2 m tall and the same wide, and can be trimmed as necessary. Best performance with this plant is achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained site, and it will tolerate dry periods, coastal environments, moderate frost, and cool climates. “Anvi” is commonly grown as a specimen, included in a mixed planting, used as a backdrop for smaller plants, added to cottage gardens, planted around outdoor living areas such as pools and the like, or trimmed into a hedge.
