Commonly known as the Snowball Bush, this deciduous variety of Viburnum features impressive foliage and showy flowers. Showy clusters of fragrant, pure white flowers appear like pompoms during spring and gradually fade to pink. These are borne above the lush, soft, green, maple-like foliage which provides for a stunning contrast. The foliage develops impressive red, orange, and purple tones in autumn before falling. It typically grows to 3 m tall and the same wide but can be trimmed as necessary. Best performance with this plant is achieved when grown in full sun on a well-drained site. It is a hardy plant that will tolerate dry periods, coastal conditions, frost, and cool climates. The Snowball Bush is grown as a specimen, included in a mixed planting, added to cottage gardens, or used as a backdrop for smaller plants.
