Westringia Jervis Gem is a variety of the commonly known, Coastal Rosemary, and is a popular, fast-growing shrub. It features fine and narrow, green leaves which are held densely off short stems. The foliage is complemented during spring and summer with masses of small, lilac-pink flowers as it grows to 1 m tall and the same wide. Westringia Jervis Gem is commonly included in a mixed planting, maintained in a container, included in coastal gardens, trimmed into a low hedge, or mass planted for an impressive display.

How far apart to plant Westringia Jervis Gem

Westringia Jervis Gem can be grown as a hedge or as standalone plants. For a hedge, the spacing is generally 50 cm between the plants. If you want the hedge to fill in faster, you can shorten the spacing to 40 cm. As standalone plants that don’t merge, the minimum spacing is 1.3 m apart. If the goal is to achieve an informal hedge such that the natural form of the plants is realised and with some merging, the recommended spacing is 90 cm apart.
