Westringia ‘Lilac and Lace’ is a variety of the commonly known, Coastal Rosemary, and is a fast-growing, bushy shrub in NZ gardens. It has fine and narrow leaves which are variegated cream and dark green. It produces small and dainty, lilac-coloured flowers from late winter through until summer. This evergreen shrub typically grows to 1.5 m tall and the same wide, performing best when grown in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of dry periods, moderate frost, coastal environments, and most soil conditions barring the extremes of wet and dry. Westringia ‘Lilac and Lace’ is commonly included in a mixed planting, maintained in a container, included in coastal gardens, trimmed into a low hedge, or mass planted for an amazing display.
