Agave parryi, commonly known as Parry’s Agave, features broad and stiff, silver-blue, powdery leaves. The broad and fleshy leaves are held as a loose rosette with each leaf having a series of dark spines along its edge. It typically grows to 60 cm tall and 90 cm wide. Agave parryi is commonly used as an attractive feature in modern gardens, particularly when planted in clusters or used to contrast with other colours and forms. It is also ideal for mixed plantings, rock gardens, growing in a container, or including in Mediterranean garden themes.

Agave parryi Details

Agave parryi, commonly known as Parry’s Agave, features broad and stiff, silver-blue, powdery leaves. The broad and fleshy leaves are held as a loose rosette with each leaf having a series of dark spines along its edge. Mature plants may produce a flower spike that can reach up to 4 m in length which bears clusters of yellow flowers. Ignoring the flowering stem, it typically grows to 60 cm tall and 90 cm wide, performing best when planted in full sun with a well-drained soil. It is very tolerant of dry conditions and will tolerate moderate frost. Agave parryi is commonly used as an attractive feature in modern gardens, particularly when planted in clusters or used to contrast with other colours and forms. It is also ideal for mixed plantings, rock gardens, growing in a container, or including in Mediterranean garden themes.
