Aloe brevifolia Details

Aloe brevifolia, commonly known as the Crocodile plant or Short-Leaved Aloe, is a succulent that produces a rosette of warty, blue-green leaves that are thick, pointed, and carry soft, white teeth. The leaves may develop pink tones in winter or when the plant is moisture stressed. The foliage is complemented with yellow flowers in winter. It typically grows to 20 cm and 40 cm wide, performing best when positioned in in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. The leaves do, however, tend to be more colourful when planted in full sun. This is one of the more cold tolerant Aloes, but we do recommend protecting it from frost. Aloe brevifolia is commonly mass planted either as a ground cover or in borders, and makes an excellent pot plant indoors or out. It is also often used in rock and Mediterranean themed gardens.
