Small, red-purple leaves are held off slender stems that creep across the ground and take root. The leaf colouring will change to green during winter or when grown in partial shade. It typically grows to 10 cm tall and will spread to 40 cm wide, performing best when grown in full sun on a well-drained site that is protected from frost.
