Acer Aratama is an unusual and petite Dwarf Japanese maple which carries a rich display of graceful, delicate foliage. Leaves on this deciduous tree emerge brick red along horizontal branches. These darken to an almost olive colour through summer before turning yellow-orange in autumn and falling. Trees will grow to 1 m tall and the same wide. Acer Aratama is a magnificent specimen which is ideal for mixed plantings, container growing, bonsai, planting around an entrance way, or using anywhere the spectacular colour can be enjoyed.

Acer Aratama is an unusual and petite Dwarf Japanese maple which carries a rich display of graceful, delicate foliage. Leaves on this deciduous tree emerge brick red along horizontal branches. These darken to an almost olive colour through summer before turning yellow-orange in autumn and falling. Trees will grow to 1 m tall and the same wide, performing best in full sun on a well-drained site. Trees will grow on a range of soil types but will struggle at the extremes of wet and dry and are also tolerant of frost, cool climates, and short periods of dry. Acer Aratama is a magnificent specimen which is ideal for mixed plantings, container growing, bonsai, planting around an entrance way, or using anywhere the spectacular colour can be enjoyed.
